Julie LaTerra Homes, a brand leading custom home builder offers internships in journalism, PR, and marketing to conservative college students. All of our internships are flexible with regard to length of time and number of hours worked per week, which allows students to take classes while completing their internships. Interns will work at the Julie LaTerra Homes Design Center conveniently located across from Concord Mills Mall in Concord, NC

SALARY
Stipend Only
The planned internship stipend will be $1,000 upon completion of a 15-week internship. Further details will be given to those awarded a stipend.

THE ROLE
PR is a stipend only Internship with Julie LaTerra Homes, a successful and fast growing custom home building company. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running writing and sending press releases, monitoring press coverage, organizing and publicizing events.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Great opportunity for student majoring in Marketing, Communications, PR or English. You will be exposed to how a successful custom home builder business is run including web marketing, public relations and business development.

Get the differences between writing for sales, customer service, PR, and entertainment news publications.
Are energetic, well-rounded and willing to tackle a number of different tasks or projects.
Enjoy working with down-to-earth, hard-working people who believe in providing customers with a great home buying customer experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Writing and proofreading program materials.
Calling editors.
Writing and releasing PR stories that are of public interest.
Creating outreaches (i.e. media tours, events).
Working with Sales to really get a feel for the help our customers need.
Writing a series of helpful tips.
Writing video scripts.

QUALIFICATIONS
Great writing skills. The goal is to bring customers into the design center and buy our homes.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Good typing skills. Ability to work quickly.
Cheerful, upbeat, personable demeanor.
Comprehensive understanding of the Internet and “Web 2.0”
Ability to commit to working generally 10-20 hours per week.
Ability to work independently in a timely manner – don’t need to be told what to do, can keep yourself busy based on a task list.
