The Top Twenty

I just read a great article about the 20 cities where the most boomers plan on retiring. Believe me you will like what the cities that are on the list. In less than two years, the baby boomers will turn 65. The Urban Institute researchers are saying that this is going to be the beginning of what could be called the “tsunami of senior growth in the next decade.” Between 2010 and 2020 the senior population is expected to grow by 36 percent.

You will notice that the southeast and the intermountain west will experience the most growth for retiring people. Here is the list of the top 20 cities where we can see many boomers retiring:

1. Raleigh-Cary, NC
2. Austin-Round Rock Texas
3. Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta, GA
4. Boise City-Nampa, Idaho
